Presentation Title
The Importance of Certifying Platforms, Services and Tools used for Clinical Research

Presentation Description / Abstract
Quality labelling and certification are essential in the quality assurance process in order to ensure that Electronic Health Record systems (EHRs) used in clinical research adhere to certain quality characteristics (e.g. trustworthiness, confidentiality, data correctness, etc...). Several recent European eHealth projects have outlined how these processes could be implemented and have addressed various tools and methodologies. The EuroRec Institute maintains a repository of EHR quality criteria and has developed tools to facilitate the quality labelling and certification of EHR systems and clinical research platforms.
