Interoperability Showcase

Information technology is set to transform the healthcare industry, a realization of a vision that we all share. Not only do we want to have the best science, infrastructure and professionals, but also the best value, safety and productivity. Now is the time to deliver healthcare that results in interconnected and personalised care, based on safer and smarter architecture. Now is the time to transform this vision into a reality.

The Interoperability Showcase features cutting-edge technology and standards that create an interactive environment where attendees experience interoperability of healthcare IT systems. Attendees will be able to create their own electronic health record and access it across multiple healthcare settings within the Showcase. Clinical scenarios that demonstrate a connected healthcare system will be enabled by the standards-based Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) framework.

The Showcase will also feature initiatives, collaborations and focused tours for VIPs and national delegations. Over 10%, nearly 3,000, of HIMSS’07 Annual Conference attendees visited the Interoperability Showcase and attended the educational sessions, reinforcing the critical need for information on interoperability and the certain transformation of a unified healthcare system.
